CAN U, Calhoun’s Academic and Nutrition Universe, was created by Dakotah Calhoun after many years of teaching elementary grades in the Texas public school system.

She was passionate about guiding children to a love for learning through self-created thematic units, but often struggled to find joy in the test prep and paperwork.

After taking some time off from the classroom to spend with her family, she decided to combine the concepts she loved to teach and the struggles she heard from parents into a small business- CAN U.

The purpose of CAN U is to support elementary-aged children and their families by providing quality tutoring sessions, enrichment lessons, and education-based activities. Whether it be spending quality time playing games as a family, sparking meaningful conversations with math and reading activities, or attending sessions with Mrs. Calhoun, CAN U hopes to instill a love of learning and an “I CAN” mindset in each child.

We live in such a fast-paced world that it’s easy to get overwhelmed and feel like we can’t get it all done.
